New Delhi, April 06: Delhi native Ankur Sharma, who plays cricket for a Hong Kong cricket team, was let off today by a city court without any punishment following his conviction by it for submitting his wrong birth certificate to a court earlier to avoid his trial in a road mishap case.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav convicted 29-year-old Ankur after he pleaded guilty at the stage of framing of charges against him in the perjury case but let him off waiving all “penal consequences of the conviction” including fine or jail term punishment.
“It is clarified that the conviction of the convict in this case will have no penal consequences whatsoever against him,” the CMM ruled while also warning Ankur that he will never depose falsely in any court.
