Cricket fans hopeful of India breaking jinx against SA

Fans across the nations extended their best wishes to the Men in Blue as India take on South Africa at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday.

Cricket lovers were sitting glued to their television sets watching the match and were hopeful of the national cricket team clinching the World Cup for the third time.

“We wish India good luck. India must surely win by scoring good runs and we hope that India brings the World Cup to the country,” said a cricket enthusiast from Jaipur.

Many were also hopeful of star batsman Virat Kohli’s century against the Proteas and a double ton by Rohit Sharma.

“As India has won against Pakistan in their first match, so we are hopeful that India will surely win today,” another fan added.

Cricket fans in Uttar Pradesh had yesterday organised special prayer ceremonies for the team while people in Bhopal organised a ‘hawan’ for the national team.

“We prayed that God shower blessings on the Indian cricket team to win against South Africa team. India has always lost against South Africa and this time they win easily against them and achieve the World Cup title for the country,” said a cricket lover, Rajendra Trivedi.

India has never beaten South Africa in three previous meetings at World Cups. (ANI)
