Cricket betting racket busted; one held

Sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone here on Thursday gathered information and apprehended one cricket betting organizer while he was accepting cricket betting amounts in the Afzalgunj police limits and seized one Videocon TV,  one setup box, four cell phones, a cash counting machine, one calculator, one pen, one paper which was being used for writing cricket betting amounts, net cash of Rs 9,03,000 and a Honda Activa vehicle B.No.AP13P 3380.

The police said the accused Rajesh Kumar Ingadi was organizing cricket betting and collecting amounts for ongoing ICC T20 World Cup Semi Final-2 match between India and West Indies teams in Mumbai on Thursday.

 

Rajesh Kumar Ingadi, 39, son of Babu Rao, of H. No.4-8-203 & 204, Gowliguda joined one Bharath Kumar and his brothers in the Cricket betting racket and was collecting money directly from the punters. On Thursday, Rajesh Kumar Ingadi organized Cricket betting in his house bearing No 4-8-203 & 204, Gowliguda and was accepting Cricket betting amounts. The accused was handed over to the SHO, Afzalgunj PS, for further action.

 

The raid was conducted under the supervision of B. Limba Reddy, Dy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, by L. Raja Venkat Reddy, Inspector, West Zone Team with the assistance of SIs M. Prabhakar Reddy, P. Mallikarjun, L. Bhaskar Reddy, V. Kishore and the Staff of West Zone Team, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad. (NSS)
