Hyderabad April 26: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task force West Zone team on 25-04-10 on a tip off conducted raid at H.No. 14-10-881, Jungur Basthi, Lower Dhoolpet, Manglahat, Hyderabad and apprehended three accused persons who were accepting Cricket betting for ensuing IPL Final Match in between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings and seized 3 cell phones, one television and cash of Rs.19,900/- from their possession.
NAMES OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS
1) Santosh, S/o late Shankar, 35 years, occ: cable operator, r/o 14-10-881,
Jungur Basthi, Lower Dhoolpet, Manglahat, Hyderabad
2) Satish S/o late Shankar, 30 years, occ: cable operator, r/o 14-10-881,
Jungur Basthi, Lower Dhoolpet, Manglahat, Hyderabad
3) Suresh Singh, S/o Tara Singh, 22 years, occ: Auto Driver, r/o 14-10-887,
Jungur Basthi, Lower Dhoolpet, Mangalhat, Hyderabad.
BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:
The prime accused Santosh accepting Cricket betting in his house along with his younger brother Satish with the assistance of Suresh over cell phones from the punters during the IPL Cricket matches. He and his brother contact known persons and business men in their locality over cell phone for betting the amount on Cricket matches. Santosh along with his brother Satish and Suresh will be watching the Cricket match on Television and as and when any punters contacts them for betting money on some team they will enter his name, amount and team name on which he is betting. Later Santosh will send Suresh to collect the betting money from Punters for which he is giving Rs.100/- per day.
Yesterday i.e on 25.04.2010 since 8.00 pm, the accused persons accepting bettings on DLF IPL-3 20-20 final cricket match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super kings held at Mumbai. West zone Task Force team at about 9.00pm conducted raid and apprehended accused persons and seized 1) Three cell phones 2) Net Cash of Rs.19,900/- 3) One paper containing the betting details 4) one portable iconic Colour Television from the possession of the accused persons.
The arrested accused persons along with seized material were handed over to SHO Mangalhat Police Station for necessary action.
The above raids were conducted by J. Narsaiah, Inspector of Police, West Zone Task Force, Sub-Inspectors of Police, L.Raja Venkat Reddy, K. Kiran, S. Rajasekhar Reddy, G. Naveen Kumar and Staff of West Zone Task Force Team, Hyderabad under the supervision of V.B.Kamalasan Reddy, Dy.Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad.
