CREDAI, Arabindo Pharma adopt lakes; present cheques to CM

In a major boost to flagship program of the Telangana government, some of the donors and philanthropists are coming forward to adopt lakes for restoration.
As the State government has taken up Mission Kakatiya in a prestigious manner, the donors are showing interest in adopting the lakes. CREDAI adopted 11 lakes in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts through an agreement reached in the presence of Chief Minster K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Tuesday.
Representatives of CREDAI today called on the Chief Minister at the Secretariat and handed over a cheque for Rs 50 lakhs for restoration works of the lakes. Similarly, an industrialist from Warangal Giridhar handed over a cheque of Rs 25 lakhs to the Chief Minster for restoration of Madikonda lake. Arabindo Pharma Director Sharath Chandra Reddy also donated Rs 25 lakh for the purpose.
Taking cue, employees of Mines and Geology department announced donation of one-day salary towards lakes restoration. The Chief Minster is learnt to have exuded confidence that the gesture of the donors will be source of inspiration for others to adopt lakes to help flourish agriculture sector. (NSS)
