Crazed cricket fans drank beer worth 5-mln-dollars during Adelaide Test!

As Australia marched to a 2-0 lead in the Ashes, record crowds consumed record amounts of food, and drink sales generated a record 5 million-dollars in revenue during Adelaide”s new stadium”s debut Test, according to reports.

According to News.com.au, Stadium Management Authority chief executive Andrew Daniels said the record figure was driven by the biggest crowds to attend an Adelaide Test in almost 60 years. With a boosted capacity despite much of the sprawling eastern stand yet to be finished, the five-day crowd of 153,800 was the fifth-biggest in Adelaide”s Test history, the report said.

Saturday”s 36,414 was the most to watch a day”s cricket at the ground since 1955, the report added. It was the first time more than 30,000 fans attended on four days of a match, the report further said. Despite uncharacteristically cool conditions and several rain patches, the happy crowd lapped up the array of new food and drinks facilities, the report mentioned. (ANI)
