Hyderabad, October 04 (Siasat News): A crackers godown caught fire at the first floor of Bhawani fire works late night resulting massive smoke pluming across the area.
The incident took place in shop no 17 of Sri Krupa market situated at Mahboob Ganj, Malakpet. Police while making arrangements for putting down the fire stopped traffic too at National highway from Chaderghat to Nalgonda X road. The traffic jammed as the buses, Lorries and other vehicles stuck to the place.
It has been told that the crackers godown in the market displayed dangerous sight like that of bursting of firecrackers. The sound of fire crackers was heard from afar. Smoke plumed all over the area and the odor of gunpowder made it difficult for people to breathe in. Fire brigade was called for but the staff faced great difficulty extinguishing the fire till late night.
‘At last fire brigade staff resorted to extinguish fire from the frontal area of the market using hydraulic lift’ told fire officer Deen Dayal.
According to police the godown had been set up illegally.
