Crack in wind shield forces Air India flight to return

New Delhi: Lucknow-bound Air India flight from IGI airport, with 160 passengers on board, had to be returned today after take off due to crack in the wind shield of the aircraft.

The Air India flight AI 411 took off from IGI airport at around 7:15 AM for Lucknow. When the plane was airborne, the pilot noticed that crack had developed in the wind shield of the cockpit and decided to return the flight to Delhi, Air India said.

The aircraft landed safely at 8:20 AM at IGI airport.

All the passengers were deplaned and later flown to their destination in another aircraft, Air India said.

The aircraft has been repaired and put back into operation.
