CPM wants CBI probe

Puducherry, August 27: Alleging widespreaded irregularities in the implementation of underground drainage scheme in the previous Congress Regime, the Puducherry Unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) today demanded a CBI probe into it. Talking to newspersons here, CPM Secretary V Perumal and Former Secretary T Murugan charged that a former minister was involved in it. They demanded that the CBI case pertaining to the alleged irregularities in the tsunami rehabilitation fund in which former District Collector Ragesh Chandra was involved, be expedited and the funds seized and be provided to the affected. Alleging murders and burglaries were on the increase in the union territory, they demanded a CBI probe into several murders.
