CPM demands completion of Nalgonda projects

Hyderabad, December 23 (INN): The Communists Party of India (Marxist) demanded that the State Government release a White Paper on the status of irrigation projects in Nalgonda district.

CPI (M) floor J Ranga Reddy on Wednesday called upon Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the State Secretariat requesting him to take steps for early completion of irrigation projects in the Nalgonda district. Talking to reporters later, Ranga Reddy said that lot of irregularities have taken place in the irrigation projects’ works which were completed under the Jala Yagnam projects.

Demanding a separate White Paper on the projects taken up in the Nalgonda district under the Jalayagmam project, Ranga Reddy said that the government should display seriousness in the early completion of the works. He claimed that nearly 70 per cent of works in many projects have been completed, but due to irregularities the rest 30 per cent works were still pending.

Ranga Reddy requested the Chief Minister to take steps to ensure that all pending works in the district are completed by December 2012. He said that the Chief Minister has assured him of taking appropriate action in this regard. (INN)
