Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Sunday informed that party’s 24th State Mahasabha will be held from February 21 to 24 in Karimnagar.
Talking to media persons at Makhdhoom Bhavan, he said that CPI general secretary A B Bardhan and party deputy secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy will participate as chief guests in the Mahasabha. He said the Maha Sabha will discuss on present political situation in the State apart from welfare schemes launched by the government, corruption in mining, Jalayagnam and microfinance issues.
Narayana said that the venue where the Mahasabha would be held at Circus Grounds in Karimnagar has been named after freedom fighter Dr Raj Bahadur Gaur.
Expressing serious concern over the political uncertainty in the state due to group politics in the Congress party, he predicted that the State might witness difficult times in future. Further, he demanded that Telangana resolution should be introduced in the State Assembly to avert political crisis.
Narayana also accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of misusing the ACB report on liquor syndicate to settle political scores and using it as a tool to shield his supporters. (INN)
