CPI(M) today demanded that the Centre hold discussion on status of Dalits and tribals during upcoming two-day special session of Parliament on November 26 and said it will push for private sector reservation to SC and ST communities when the sitting takes place.
Asserting that CPI(M) had demanded a special session to account for promises made to the communities, party general secretary Sitaram Yechury said the Left party is looking forward to hear from Centre on the issues during the sitting, which he hoped, doesn’t turn out just another ‘event’.
“CPIM had demanded a special session to account for promises made to Dalits and tribals. We want the status of Tribals and Dalits discussed as well. We will move for reservation in the private sector, Yechury said in a series of tweets on the micro-blogging site Twitter @cpimspeak..
“We hope it is not just another ‘event’. We look forward to hearing from the government soon,” Yechury said.
Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh today decided to call two-day special sitting of Parliament to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution and honour its architect BR Ambedkar beginning on November 26.
