CPI(M) responsible for violence in Kannur: Chandy

Thiruvananthapuram, May 31: Leader of the Opposition in Kerala Assembly Oomen Chandy today alleged that the CPI(M) was responsible for the new violent incidents and political murders in Kannur district.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Chandy alleged that the Home Department was fully responsible for the new political violence and murders in Kannur, the home district of Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Responding to new violent incidents in Kannur district, in which two RSS workers were murdered and three CPI(M) and an IUML activists suffered injuries, he said the state government was responsible for the total break down of law and order since last four years there.

About National Highway expansion, he alleged that the government was delaying the process in the name of toll collection.

”The Opposition will clarify its stand after the government comes out with its stand in this regard,” he added.
