CPIM demands Law Commission for JK

Jammu, March 13: CPI(M) today demanded setting up of a Law Commission in Jammu and Kashmir to have a comprehensive review of the legal system and remove obsolete and outdated laws in the state.

“There is an immediate need for setting up of Law Commission in Jammu and Kashmir to undertake comprehensive review of the legal system and remove obsolete and outdated laws,” CPI(M) State Secretary M Y Tarigami said here.

He asked the government to come up with Finance and Election Commission bills for panchayats to pave the way for real devolution of planning and funds mechanism.

Stressing on social auditing, the legislator called for timely payment of both wages and work to the job card holders under MGNREGA.
