CPI urges CM to help prevent RTC crew strike

Communist Party of India Telangana State Council urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to intervene and make RTC workers, who were planning strike from May 6 to withdraw the agitation.

In a pressnote here on Tuesday, CPI leader Chada Venkat Reddy said the Telangana RTC, which was already in debts to the tune of Rs 3,000 crores, will accumulate more losses if the workers go on strike from May 6. He said the salaries of RTC workers were very less when compared to government employees. While the TRS government announced 43 percent fitment to the government employees after the formation of Telangana State, the government has not announced any fitment to the RTC employees, who participated in the historic Sakala Janula Samme during separate Telangana movement by staying away from duties. The government also did not grant leave salary for the period of Sakala Janula Samme. The RTC employees are greatly disheartened as the government failed to announce any benefits. (NSS)
