Communist Party of India (CPI) has expressed its unhappiness over the Telangana State Government’s failure to curb selling of children by Lambadi tribal people in Devarakonda constituency area in Nalgonda district.
CPI Floor leader and Devarakonda MLA R Ravindra Kumar today handed over a letter to the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in this regard. He explained the plight of the Lambadi tribal people and their backwardness and their falling in loan net, and said that they were selling their children, particularly girl children, similar to goods selling in the market.
Ravindra Kumar mentioned in the letter that the CPI was demanding the respective governments since several years to announce financial package providing education, medical facilities and giving personal loans, fertile lands, houses to tribal people. The tribal people are selling their girl child only to overcome the problems of loans. He asked the new government in the new State to announce special financial package to the tribal people and provide golden future to the tribal women and make Telangana a golden Telangana. (NSS)
