CPI to stage Dharnas across the Nation on May 5 and 6

CPI National general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy has revealed that their party would stage dharnas across the nation on drought on May 5 and 6.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Suravaram alleged that the state and central governments have failed in taking up drought relief works. Demanding the TRS government to declare the entire Telangana state as drought hit one, Suravaram alleged that the government was not implementing NREGS properly. About 2crore people were facing drought conditions across the state and were migrating to other places. No mention on drought in TRS plenary was painful, Suravaram bemoaned.

CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said that the governments were not responding even after Supreme Court’s shunting on drought relief works. (NSS)
