CPI slams Telugu CMs for being silent on Rohit death

CPI national leader Dr K Narayana here on Thursday expressed dismay over the silence of Chief Ministers of two Telugu States – K Chandrasekhara Rao and Nara Chandrababu Naidu on the suicide death of Hyderabad Central University research scholar Rohit Vemula on the campus recently.

Speaking to mediapersons here, Dr Narayana said imposition of President’s rule on Arunachal Pradesh State was not proper and justifiable. He demanded that the BJP-led NDA government to give a convincing explanation on the necessity of bringing Arunachal Pradesh under President’s rule.

Stating that his party was totally against the institution of Governor, the CPI leader said there was no use of Governors barring financial burden on the exchequer on the maintenance of Raj Bhavans. (NSS)
