CPI seeks Rs 10 lakh to all T martyrs

CPI floor leader R Ravindra Kumar today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao should recognise all 1200 families of martyrs instead of only 369.

In a letter addressed to the chief minister, the left party leader expressed concern that the TRS Government is ignoring the plight of 831 families. The TRS came to power with the sacrifices of these martyrs he said. Ravindra Kumar accused the chief minister of showing partisan attitude and deliberately ignoring the families who lost their children. It is the duty of the government to recognize all the families, he said. The government is ought to extend suitable exgratia of Rs 10 lakhs to the rest of the families besides giving housing facility, job and land to each family as promised. He also sought the construction of a memorial for T martyrs in Hyderabad. (NSS)
