Likening seven-month-old BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre to UPA- Rule, CPI general secretary Suraravam Sudhakar Reddy today lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for encouraging corporate culture and miserably failing to keep his promise of bringing back “black money” stashed abroad.
Addressing mediapersons at Makhdoom Bhavan along with CPI leaders Dr K Narayana and Chada Venkat Reddy here, Suravaram alleged that the BJP Government has failed on all fronts leading to discontent among people. Accusing the Narendra Modi Government of being unmindful of communal forces and showing no much difference to that of UPA-II Government, the CPI leader said the saffron party has shown its true colours by roping in former IPS officer Kiran Bedi, who joined BJP for the sake of chief minister post and will be contesting in Delhi Assembly polls scheduled to be held on February 7.
Stating that the BJP would face stiff fight in the elections, he stressed the need for reunification of the Left parties across the nation. He exuded confidence that all the Left parties will get back together probably in three years now and become a unified force at national level to fight 2019 general elections. Stating that the CPI central committee has introduced a new political policy, Sudhakar Reddy said they would disclose its resolution on January 24. He also said the Left parties began to lose ground ever since CPI split. “Now reunification of the Left parties is our agenda to strengthen the party and we will become a strong force at national level in three years to fight other parties”, Sudhakar Reddy said.
The CPI with CPM and other Left parties will take on the “anti-people” policies of the BJP Government which is encouraging communal elements, he said. “Ours is not an outdated struggle as the Left parties fight on land reforms and problems pertaining to oppressed class. We will fight tooth and nail at all levels against the anti-people and anti- farmer policies of the Government”, he said.
The CPI leader Dr K. Narayana has opposed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement that erstwhile Nizam’s history will be included in Telangana curriculum. “This illogical plan should immediately be withdrawn as Nizam’s rule is notorious for anarchy and torture of people”, he said. He alleged that AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was chanting RSS “manthra” of many children norm only to appease the BJP, the ally of Telugu Desam. However, Naidu’s ideas will not fructify as the BJP has its own agenda in 2019 elections, he added.
Centre should intervene on Eamect
Chanda Venkat Reddy demanded that the Centre intervene in the controversial Eamcet between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh which are sticking to their stands, and find an amicable solution. The Telangana Chief Minister should come clear on fees reimbursement and FAST scheme to relieve the students of chaos and confusion. (NSS)
