Welcoming the Telangana state Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy’s announcement that the government was appointing a committee on release of the life convicted prisoners who have good conduct, CPI lone MLA R Ravindra Kumar wished that the Committee’s decisions would be simple and transparent.
In a letter to the Home Minister here on Sunday, Ravindra Kumar urged him that the terms and conditions in releasing prisoners should be simple and transparent and they should be in a manner that the families of the prisoners, who were waiting for years for the release, are in a relaxed manner. He stated that priority be given to the good conduct prisoners who completed 60 years of age and those who completed five years imprisonment including remission and those who were suffering from long term illnesses. He wished the government would prepare a policy in this manner by taking all measures. (NSS)
