CPI (Maoist) denounces arrest of Ghandy

Hyderabad, September 30: Denouncing the arrest of CPI (Maoist) politburo member Kobad Ghandy in Delhi, the party Tuesday said that it was a part of a brutal offensive unleashed against the revolutionary party by the Sonia- Manmohan-Chidambaram fascist clique at the Centre.

In a statement here today, CPI (Maoist) central committee spokesperson Azad said that Ghandy’s arrest took place exactly a month after the arrest of a politburo member Sumit from Ranchi on August 19 and four months after the abduction and brutal murder of central commitee member Patel Sudhakar. The arrest of Ghandy is being touted as a success of the Intelligence officials while it was actually the result of betrayal by a weak element in the party who was acting as his courier who led the SIB from AP and the Intelligence wing in Delhi to the appointment spot in Bhikaji Cama Place in South Delhi.

Kobad Ghandy hails from a rich elitist background but had abandoned everything and mingled with the oppressed masses serving them selflessly for almost four decades. He lived with the unorganised workers, advasi peasants and the urban poor and became popular.
