CPI (M) threatens against property Tax hike

Mr. S.Sahadev, Mr. N.Somia, Mr. M. Srinivas Rao, and M. Srinavas leaders of C.P.I (M) condemned the increase in property tax. They said that Govt. owes more than one thousand crore to Municipal Corporation. Instead of paying these arrears, administration wants to put people in trouble by raising property tax. They appealed to the Municipal Authorities to represent the CM to make payment instead of burdening the public. They told that Govt. is collecting motor vehicles tax and profession tax which generates crores of income for the Govt. In fact, this money has to be given to Municipal Corporation, which constructs roads. They demanded the Govt. to authorize GHMC to collect motor vehicles tax and profession tax so that its income is increased. They pointed out that people are already overburdened with price rise in petrol, diesel, electricity water etc. In such a situation, enhancement in property tax will increase the difficulties of public. They threatened to launch a massive protest against it.
