CPI (M) seeks CBI’s explanation for not arresting Jagan

Communist Party of India (Marxist) state general secretary B V Raghavulu on Tuesday demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation explain to people as to why it did not arrest Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case despite filing three charge sheets.

Talking to media persons at the party office, Raghavulu asked as to why the probing agency was showing discrimination in arresting Jagan despite filing third charge sheet in the court. If the probing agency fails to give a proper reply, it would be assumed that the CBI was working at the behest of the Congress party, he said.

Raghavulu also criticized Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for not responding on media reports that recently he purchased and registered of four acres land near Bengaluru in Karnataka state. He demanded that the Chief Minister explain to the people whether the land deal was legal or illegal.

The CPI (M) leader said that the by-elections in the state have become a matter of life and death for all principal parties in the State. (INN)
