Communist Party of India (Marxist) state general secretary B V Raghavulu on Tuesday stated that the results of assembly elections in five States were a fitting lesson for both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Talking to media persons at his party office, Raghavulu said that the people of respective states rejected both the parties in the elections due to their utter failure in governance and corruption charges against their leaders in connection with various scams. He said that the elections have once again proved that the regional parties would play a crucial role in the next elections in 2014.
Raghavulu said that his party would oppose tooth and nail the privatization proposal of State Road Transport Corporation.
Responding to fielding CPI candidates in 17 assembly constituencies of Jagan group disqualified under anti defection law by the Speaker, he said that his party would contest where it has strong base in those constituencies. (INN)
