CPI (M) asks parties to clear their stand on Telangana

Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary B V Raghavulu on Saturday called upon all the parties in the State to make their stand clear on the Telangana statehood issue to put an end to political uncertainty.

Talking to media persons after emerging out of party’s State Executive meeting, Raghavulu demanded that the ruling Congress, main opposition Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party make their stand clear on the bifurcation of State issue immediately. He accused the three parties of resorting to double-speak over the statehood issue in Seemandhra and Telangana regions and forcing the Centre to delay its announcement on Telangana state formation.

Responding to the outcome of by-elections, he said that though the Congress and Telugu Desam have exposed the corruption of YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy the people have not responded favourably and elected YSRCP candidates with a huge majority. If the Congress party has any commitment to eradicate corruption, the CPI(M) leader demanded the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy sack those corrupt ministers against whom the Supreme Court has served notices for issuing controversial GOs.

“The government should suspend the five ministers from the Cabinet and order CBI probe against them to get complete facts over the assets case,” he stated. (INN)
