CPI leaders take out Padayatra for T Bill, arrested

Hyderabad, February 18: The police on Thursday arrested Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana and Communist party (Marxist) state secretary B V Raghavulu along with their followers at Gun Park when they took out a pada yatra from Makhdoom Bhavan to the state Assembly.

The Communist leaders took out pada yatra demanding introduction of Telangana Bill in the Parliament Session and clearing of reimbursement of fee dues to private engineering colleges and scholarships to reserved category students immediately.

Raising slogans against the government, the CPI activists alleged that the government failed to address the reimbursement issue and playing the games with students and their lives.

They demanded that the government make total efforts for controlling inflation and rising prices of essential commodities as they made common man unable to eat square meals a day.

When the pada yatra reached Gun Park, the police did not allow the protestors to proceed further as the Assembly session was in progress.

Later the police arrested and shifted them to Nampally police station.
