Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State CPI secretary Ramakrishna today met City Police Commissioner Goutham Sawang and urged him to give permission to the meeting to felicitate controversial writer Prof. Kancha Ilaiah.
Speaking on this occasion, Ramakrishna asked Sawang to give permission to Ilaiah meeting at Gymkhana Grounds or at Kandukuri Function Hall. He said they paid Chalan amount to Municipal Corporation on October 9 seeking permission to the meeting. But the police rejected permission, he said and suggested that the police give permission to Arya-Vaishyas meeting at Kandukuri Function Hall.
He made it clear that they will organise Ilaiah felicitation meeting on October 28. He alleged that the Chandrababu government was extending its support to one section of people and warned that they will revolt if anybody tries to obstruct Ilaiah’s felicitation meeting. He assured that they will organise the meeting peacefully without disturbing law and order.
On the other hand, Arya-Vaishya and Brahmana Ikya Vedika convener Sridhar asked the Samajika JAC to tell as to how far it was correct on the part of them to felicitate Prof. Kanche Ilaiah, who wrote a controversial book named ‘Samajika Smuglerlu Komatollu’ by criticising Arya-Vaishyas. He made it clear that they will organise their meeting at Gymkhana Grounds though the police denied permission.
DGP Sambasiva Rao had meeting with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and explained about the proposed meetings of Samajika JAC and Arya Vaishyas meetings.
Speaking to the media at Hyderabad, Ilaiah said conspiracy was going on against him to obstruct him from attending Vijayawada meeting and hence the conspirators spreading rumors saying that Ilaiah severely fell ill and joined hospital. He said that he was good enough and will attend the Vijayawada meeting at any cost. (NSS)
