CPI for July rises to 2.36 percent amid rise in vegetable prices

New Delhi [India]: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) on Monday came in at 2.36 percent for the month of July, as against a market estimate of around two percent.

As per the CPI numbers, the food price inflation came in at – 0.29 percent, higher than – 1.17 percent in June amid vegetable prices witnessing sharp spike.

The core inflation, which had fallen continuously for the last four months, stood at 3.9 percent, up from 3.8 percent a month ago.

However, the June CPI inflation rate was revised to 1.46 percent from 1.54 percent earlier. (ANI)
