The Communist Party of India (CPI) today urged the Andhra Pradesh Government to waive off Rs 25,000 given to each of the employees of Singareni Collieries during the general strike period. Talking to reporters after giving a representation to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the State Secretariat, CPI floor leader Gunda Mallesh said the government had given an advance of Rs 25,000 to SCCL employees after the end of Sakala Janula Samme. Urging the government to waive off the advance given to all the employees, he said the strike period should be treated as Special Leave for the SCCL employees. The government should fulfil all the promises made with the employees to end the general strike, he also demanded. UNI
