CPI demands stern action against MIM activists

Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded that the State government order a comprehensive inquiry into the violent incidents in Old City during the GHMC elections and initiate stern action against the culprits.

           

In a pressnote here on Tuesday, CPI Telangana State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy alleged that MIM party activists attacked the TRS, Congress, BJP and CPI activists with the fear that they may lose their identity. He said MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi himself pushed Opposition leader in the Council Mohammed Ali Sabbir aside and incited his followers to attack TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and damage his of car glasses. He said the MIM activists resorted to rigging and also attacked CPI leader and Advocate Chandramohan when the latter tried to obstruct the MIM’s rigging.

The MIM activists also attacked the house of none-other than Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali and his son. He alleged that MIM’s atrocities continued just because of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s soft corner towards MIM party. The MIM activists have resorted to attacks with the fear of defeat in the GHMC elections, he alleged and demanded that the Election Commission order an inquiry into the poll trends. He also demanded that the government initiate action as per law against the culprits whoever it may be by filing criminal cases on them. (NSS)
