The CPI state Secretary Dr K Narayana has demanded the Government to create a special court to settle the land disputes.
The CPI leader, who was on way to Asifabad, as part of his ‘Praja poru yatra’, paid homage at the Girijan martyrs memorial here today. Speaking on the occasion, he said that according to a survey conducted by the CPI, 75 lakh acres of Government lands are in the hands of landlords in the State. He demanded that these lands be distributed among the landless poor immediately.
Narayana further said that the Koneru Ranga Rao committee had said in it’s report that lakhs of acres of lands were in the hands of landlords. He made it clear that the party would continue it’s land struggles till justice was done to the poorer sections. (NSS)
