The Communist Party of India secretary K Narayana on Tuesday demanded complete reshuffle of the State Cabinet following naming of ministers in corruption cases being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Talking to reporters here, CPI State Secretary K Narayana said that the present cabinet of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had lost its image among the people many ministers were spending time with the CBI or in the court. Therefore, he demanded that the entire cabinet be reshuffled by replacing all the tainted ministers.
Referring to naming of Roads and Buildings Minister B Dharmana Prasad Rao as an accused in YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case, Narayana said that Dharmana should have resigned from the cabinet immediately after the submission of charge sheet by the CBI. However, instead of displaying some moral responsibility, he went to New Delhi.
Narayana said that the Chief Minister’s claim that he was against corruption would look hollow, if he does not take action against the tainted ministers. He said Kiran Kumar Reddy would be forced to conduct a cabinet meeting in the Chanchalguda Jail, if he fails to act now.
The CPI leader said that the party would launch massive agitation against corruption from August 25. (INN)
