Communist Party of India (CPI) Telangana State Council has urged the Telangana State government to regularize services of outsourcing nursing staff and increase salaries as per PRC and prevent strike scheduled to be held on June 29.
CPI Telangana State secretary Chada Venkat Reddy has addressed a letter to Health Minister C Laxma Reddy in this regard here on Sunday. In his letter, Chada has stated some 200 nursing staff, who joined as outsourcing employees, who were working for last 10 years. They were getting meager salaries when compared to private hospital nurses and expecting that their jobs will be regularized. Now the staff has decided to launch strike by staying away from duties from June 29 in protest against the Telangana State government, which formed a year ago, as it failed to increase their salaries as per PRC and for not providing 35 casual leaves per year on par with the government nurses, he stated.
The CPI leader also suggested that the Telangana State government resolve the problems of nursing staff and prevent their strike. He demanded that the government issue job continuance orders to them immediately.
The other demands are: Regularizing services of contract and outsourcing employees working with Gandhi Hospital and implement 10th PRC from the beginning; announce minimum scale and dearness allowance and provide 180 days maternity leave with salary for the contract and outsourcing employees. (NSS)
