CPI floor leader in Telangana Assembly R Ravindra Kumar Naik has demanded that the State government increase salaries of sanitary workers across the State on par with the salaries of sanitary workers of Greater Hyderabad.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao here on Tuesday, Ravindra Kumar stated it was unfortunate that the State government has failed to increase salaries of municipal workers working in districts more so the government removed 1,200 workers from their services. He demanded that the government reinstate the 1200 workers on humanitarian grounds. He demanded that the government pay equal salary for equal work all over the State.
It may be recalled that the Telangana State government increased the salaries of the Greater Hyderabad municipal workers owing to State-wide strike several months ago. But the same government failed to increase the salaries of the municipal workers working in districts. (NSS)
