Telangana State CPI Council secretary Chada Venkat Reddy urged the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to make the Agri Gold Company to pay back the amount invested in it by 12 lakh account holders from Telangana State, and order CBI inquiry into the issue to avoid suicides of the agents.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister on Wednesday, Chada said that about 12 lakh poor and backward class people and small time businessmen and employees invested in the Agri Gold expecting the amount that would help for the education of their children and for marriage purposes. But the Agri Gold was not paying the amount of the customers for the last several months, but the management was purchasing thousands of acres in the name of binamies and giving an impression that the company was in debts. Due to the Company’s attitude, about 50 customers and agents committed suicide.
Keeping the customers’ woes in view, the Telangana government has to order a CBI inquiry into the issue and initiate steps in this regard immediately, Chada asked the government. He also asked the government to bring the binami assets to light, to pay the amounts of customers. (NSS)
