The Communist Party of India on Sunday demanded that the State Government convene an all-party meeting to discuss the power crisis, especially the non-supply of gas from the Centre.
Talking to media persons here on Sunday CPI State Secretary K Narayana slammed the State Government for its failure to get its due share of allotment of gas and power from the Centre. He alleged that government has totally failed to get adequate allotment of gas from the Krishna-Godavari Basin for the State owned gas-based power plants from its own share. He alleged that due to Central Government’s lopsided policies, the entire Andhra Pradesh State was on the verge of plunging into darkness.
He also criticised Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Government for failing to stop the supply of K G Basin gas to Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Narayana demanded that the government convene an all-party meeting immediately to resolve the matter. He even demanded that the government lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to discuss the matter with Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. (INN)
