CPI decries cane charge on tribal political leaders

Telangana CPI unit has condemned lathi-charge on Girijan Political JAC leaders and workers while they tried to storm the Telangana State Public Commission demanding release of job and education notifications only after increasing reservation percentage on the basis of population.

CPI Telangana State Council Assistant Secretary Palla Venkat Reddy, in a press note here on Thursday, demanded that the State government release Tribal leaders and activists arrested by the police. He said the Telangana government has implemented only six percent of reservation to the tribals in the Engineering counseling held recently.
The government also filled jobs in Singareni by providing only six percent reservation. He said according to 2011 population enrollment, there were 9.3 percent tribal people and 9.91 percent in the recently held Comprehensive Family Survey. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao showered several sops and not yet fulfilled them. He urged the State government to increase the reservation percentage in tune with the increased population and implement the same in job notifications and in education. (NSS)
