The Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy today condemned the statement of US President barak Obama that India has to take hard decisions for a conducive atmosphere for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Mr Sudhakar, in a statement here, said ‘these are tactice to pressurize Indian government to surrender to their dictates’. He charged that this was nothing but arrogant, uncalled for interference in the internal affairs of our conntry. India cannot bend its economic policies to satify the masters of Multi-National Companis and US investors, he said. Mr Obama’s statement was like the ‘Opium war on China’ by Europeans in the 19th century. The reforms that are being proposed by Mr Obama go against the interests of India and its people, Mr Sudhakar charged and demanded that Indian government should have the courage to tell Mr Obama not to ‘poke his nose’ into India’s affairs and reject his demands.
