CPI attacks Centre on price situation

New Delhi, January 13: CPI today accused the UPA government of “failure” in managing the demand and supply situation and blamed it for the current rise in prices of essential commodities.

Party MP and National Secretary D Raja said the response of the government has been inadequate as it had failed to strengthen the public distribution system and ensure action against hoarding and black marketing in commodities.

The government, he said, had also not not taken steps to stop forward trading in commodities.

Raja said the Left parties will hold a national rally in Delhi on March 12 when it will focus on the price situation and unemployment.
