CPI floor leader Gunda Mallesh on Thursday demanded that the State Government waive off Rs 25,000 given to each of the employees of Singareni Collieries during the general strike period.
Talking to reporters after giving a representation to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the State Secretariat, Mallesh said that the government has given an advance of Rs 25,000 to SCCL employees after the end of Sakala Janula Samme. He demanded that the government waive off the advance given to all the employees. Further, he demanded that the strike period be treated as Special Leave for the SCCL employees. He said that the government should fulfill all the promises made with the employees to end the general strike.
The CPI leader also requested the Chief Minister to order a probe into the financial irregularities in the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority.
Mallesh said that the Chief Minister has assured to look into the demands raised by him. (INN)
