CPI accuses Mahesh Sharma of making provocative comments on Dadri lynching incident

New Delhi: Communist Party of India leader D Raja on Monday accused Union Minister of State for Culture, Mahesh Sharma of making senseless and provocative comments on the Dadri lynching incident, which could lead to conflict in the country.

“I don’t understand what culture Mahesh Sharma represents, his role should be questioned, whether he has any role in the entire episode, or is he trying to protect the accused,” he said.

“It was a cold blooded murder. A person was attacked and killed. Is he (Sharma) a medical expert who can tell how the injuries were inflicted? Why does he want to protect some people?” D Raja asked.

Sharma had earlier said that the nature of the injuries on the person of IAF personnel and the son of deceased Mohammed Akhlaq, Danish, prove that the intention of the mob was not to lynch him.

The minister also said that no one in the mob had touched a 17-year-old girl who was in the house at the time of the attack.(ANI)
