The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Communist Party of India (CPI) has suggested to the Centre and the State Governments to implement the recommendation made by the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) to reserve 27 per cent of jobs in Private Sector for the backward classes, and thus render justice to the youth of these communities.
In a statement here today, CPI State Secretary K Ramakrishna said that as both the Central and State Governments were attaching much importance to Private sector, vast employment opportunities would be created only in the Sector; and hence there is need to provide reservation in private sector to offer employment opportunities to the backward classes. He, therefore, requested the Governments at the Centre and the states to implement the recommendation of BC Commission.
It may be mentioned here that the NCBC has recommended to the Centre to bring in legislation making it mandatory for all organizations to set apart 27 per cent of their jobs for the OBCs. (NSS)
