Gurugram: No Law and order seem to be in force to stop evil atrocities of cow vigilantes as a second assault is reported now just a day after a similar incident was reported from Haryana.
Suspicions over beef smuggling landed two men in critical condition after cow vigilantes stopped their truck near Gurugram’s Bhavani Enclave.
According to claims these gau rakshaks or cow vigilantes received tip-off regarding beef smuggling.
They stopped the truck in the middle. Fearing death, four persons traveling in the truck attempted to flee but two of them were caught by the vigilantes.
According to reports, Cow shelter owner Savita Kataria received the information that the accused were on their way to Mewat carrying beef.
“We immediately reached Islampur village and waited for the trucks. Around 6 am, we spotted two vehicles coming from the Mewat side. When we stopped them, four people stepped out and tried to flee,” Savita told TOI.
She added, “The mob started beating them. A police team arrived at the spot after I called up the control room. With the help of police, we dispersed the crowd and handed over the duo to police.”
The two persons were rushed to the Civil Hospital for medical attention. The police have filed a case against the accused Sayal and Taied.
“On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered under the Haryana Gauvansh Sanrakshan and Gausamvardhan Act, 2015,” Subhash Boken, the police spokesperson, said.
