Mumbai, July 25: The Shiv Sena has threatened to gherao Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on his visit here on Sunday if those behind the slaughter of cows in Malegaon on July 21 are not arrested. The carcasses of eight cows were found on roads in Malegaon on Wednesday, the auspicious Ashadi Ekadashi day.
The Sena held a rally led by MP Chandrakant Khaire. As many as 125 cows were also paraded in the rally. Khaire alleged the carcasses were thrown on roads to hurt the sentiment of Hindus who hold the cows sacred.
