Hyderabad: The Director of the Telangana State Medical Education (DME), Dr. Srinivasa Rao, warned people that the second wave of COVID-19 is very serious, and asked people to take care and all precautions. He added that the state on Saturday had registered over 4,400 new cases alone.
Dr. Srinivasa Rao said that there has been community transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Speaking to media persons, he stated that the all world is “bowing” before the virus and added that around 30 to 50 lakh people died when Spanish flu hit the world decades ago. He also said that around 2.7 crore people were infected during the second wave of the virus.
Moreover, Dr. Srinivasa Rao, in an example, said that about 20 people from Maharashtra had come to a place in the state and they in turn mixed with 30 people here. Among all of those 50 persons, 34 turned out to be COVID-19 positive.”The virus had infected another 433 people after the incident. It wais the largest virus outbreak in the state so far,” he added.
