New Delhi:The bodies of two teenage cousins bearing stab marks was found from inside Japanese Park, a popular hotspot for couples, in Rohini on Valentine’s Day, police said.
The family of the deceased duo, however, has alleged that police was hiding facts from them, even as the force claimed that it had ensured elaborate security arrangements around the park yesterday.
Ankush (19) and Ashib Bagdi (17) were found with stab wounds on their bodies yesterday and one of their friends has been arrested.
Ramji Lal, Ankush’s father, said, “Ankush and Ashib’s friend, Bobby, who lives nearby had come to pick them up yesterday. When we had asked where they are going, Ashib said they would return soon. But our children did not return, only their dead bodies returned in the night.”
He said Bobby has been arrested by police from the spot but the cops have not shared details about the murders.
Despite several messages and calls Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) MN Tiwari could not be reached for his comment.
Lal said the family was worried after Ankush and Ashib did not return and kept calling on their mobile but there was no answer.
“What we have got to know is that Bobby was caught from the park itself and his clothes were stained in blood. But we suspect that there could be more persons involved since Bobby is of weak-built and couldn’t have overpowered two people and stabbed them so brutally,” claimed Ankush’s father.
He, however, was unable to decipher the reason why Ashib and Ankush were “brutally murdered”.
Since the murder happened on Valentine’s Day, it was suspected that there could be a love angle to the case.
“I do not know why my children were killed so brutally but I can say that there was no love angle to the killings,” Lal said.
A case under appropriate sections of IPC has been registered at Prashant Vihar police station. Further investigation is underway.
