Court sends Vijay Sai to judicial remand till May 7

The CBI special court, Nampally on Monday remanded Jagathi Publications vice-chairman V Vijay Sai Reddy to judicial custody till May 7.

The special court gave this direction after Vijay Sai Reddy surrendered before the court following cancellation of his conditional bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court last Friday. While extending judicial remand, the court directed the CBI to file a counter affidavit before the court by Tuesday.

Earlier, the High Court on Friday cancelled the conditional bail granted by CBI Special Court to Vijay Sai Reddy on April 13 in the disproportionate assets case of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

While cancelling the bail to Vijay Sai Reddy, the court directed the Special CBI court to review the case and hear the arguments afresh to take a final decision on granting bail to him on Monday. The High Court pointed out that the CBI Special Court has granted bail to Vijay Sai Reddy while finding fault with the CBI for not arresting 13 other accused in the case. (INN)
