Jaipur, May 05: A special court on Wednesday reserved its ruling till May 8 on the bail petition of Swami Aseemanand, a key accused in the Ajmer Dargah blast case.
In his plea Aseemanand said that, since investigation agencies had failed to file their chargesheet in the stipulated 90 days, he should be granted bail. He said during his period in jail, the agencies could not find any evidence of his involvement in the blasts they were investigating.
Simultaneously, the court allowed the National Investigating Agency 180-day time to file the chargesheet against Aseemanand and others. The NIA pleaded that since there were some discrepancies in the statements of Aseemanand and Bharat Riteshwar, another accused in the case; it needed more time to gather further information.
