The Principal Special CBI Court at Nampally today rejected the Memo filed by the YSR Congress Party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on his judicial remand in the disproportionate assets case against him. Mr Jagan in the memo had appealed to the court to direct the jail authorities to produce him in the court on expiry of his remand on June 25 instead of conducting trial proceedings through video conference. However, Judge U Durga Prasad Rao while rejecting his memo stated that the trial proceedings would be conducted through video conference after the remand ends instead of producing the Kadapa MP in the court. Mr Jagan was arrested on May 27 and his judicial remand was further extended to June 25 by the court on June 11. The CBI has grilled him for seven days from June 3-7 and again from June 9-10. Before his arrest, the investigating agency had grilled him from May 25-27 to ascertain the flow of investments pumped into his companies by firms and individuals in the assets case in return of lands allotted to them during the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure.
